Let's Go To Bettys!

Whenever anything needs celebrating in the Forcella household, we cry "Let's Go To Bettys!"

So as it was our 7th wedding anniversary, that exactly where Mr. Forcella and I went for brunch!

Bettys is a Yorkshire institution, with tearooms in Harrogate, York, Harlow Carr, Northallerton and Ilkley, which is where we went.

As a complete cake-o-phile, you can see why I'm drawn to this place!

But before we hit the cake trolley we had a deliciously tasty brunch - featuring the world's best poached eggs on toast and a bacon & raclette cheese rosti, washed down with glasses of freshly squeezed orange juice.

From the extensive tea menu we chose the Bettys Tea Room Blend and the Ceylon Blue Sapphire Tea to complement our desserts.

Now comes the difficult part - choosing a cake. I do like the ice-cream sundaes at Bettys, but I was more in the mood for some chocolate today so I went for the Swiss Chocolate & Raspberry Torte and Mr. F had a very fancy Fondant Fancy.

It's always nice to get a little souvenir of a day out, so we made our way out of the restaurant via the shop and picked up these cuties. I do like a macaroon - crunchy, chewy, fruity, as light as air and sooo pretty!
